On November 8, 1952, the Oklahoma Sooners and Notre Dame Fighting Irish played in both schools' first nationally televised game. The Irish outlasted Bud Wilkinson's Sooners. Notre Dame won a classic in South Bend by a score of 27-21 over #4 Oklahoma.
